COMPUTER TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: Technology Director
JOB GOAL: To ensure the effective, educational and ethical use of all technology in the district.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Provide technical assistance and training to end-users.
- Inventory and maintain all technology hardware.
- Assist in maintaining wide and local area networks.
- Must be able to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Must be able to prioritize duties and complete work orders without direction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Experience with the following platforms preferred: Microsoft Windows 7/10, Windows Server 2016, Mac OS X, Chrome OS, iOS, Android. Experience with Windows-based desktops/laptops, MacBooks, Chromebooks, iPads and Android tablets is preferred.
- Experience with business equipment, including printers, copiers, scanners, label and ID printers, video and security systems, is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: 1) Equivalent of two years of college-level coursework in computer science, information technology or a related field; 2) Two years of general computer installation, maintenance and repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed.
License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
