Title: At Risk Credit Recovery Teacher

 Reports To:  Building Administrators

Characteristics

      

  1.  Has the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal language.
  2.  Displays interest in children.

Qualifications

       

  1. Must have a GED or high school diploma on file in the personnel office.
  2. Background in education or related field preferred.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Assist students through the credit recovery process.
  2. Works with individual and or groups of students, as instructed.
  3. Supervises pupils in all settings during the assigned working day.
  4. Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs as required.
  5. Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities, if required.
  6. Fulfills reasonable supervisory and incidental duties, as assigned.
  7. Carries out policies of district, building, and classroom.
  8. Maintains confidentiality of all students and classroom information.
  9. Attends staff meetings, workshops, and designated training.
  10. Able to provide literacy instruction and assessment to individuals and groups of students.
  11. Applies interventions and techniques according to IEP and behavior plans for students.

Essential Function of the Job:

  1. Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators, and other staff members.
  2. Must be able to read, understand and follow written orders and instructions.
  3. Must be able to move freely around the classroom and building. 
  4. Must be able to stand and monitor the behavior of students.
  5. Any other duties assigned by the administrator.
  6. Able to receive feedback and modify interactions with students accordingly and to display patience and flexibility.
  7. Exhibit the physical capabilities to meet the individual needs of students.
  8. Possess the physical ability to restrain a child using school district-approved CPI techniques.
  9. Assist students in transition between buildings, classrooms, lunch, recess, field trips, and other educational trips.

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently walking and standing.
  2. The employee may frequently bend or twist at the neck and back while performing the duties of this job.
  3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and close vision such as reading typewritten material.
  4. The employee may occasionally lift up to 40lbs. and or push/pull up to 100 lbs. such as student equipment and wheelchairs.

Terms of Employment:  School term. Salary will be determined annually by the state's minimum teacher salary rate.  $25,000

Evaluation: This job's performance will be evaluated per the provisions of the Board's policy.
