JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: HIGH DOSAGE ACADEMIC TUTOR (part-time position)
REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL
JOB GOAL: Academic tutors will provide tutoring to underserved students in small groups, on a sustained, daily basis, to address learning loss on a more individualized basis.
Pay: $40 per hour (tutors will work 3 hours a day for 3 days per week)
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants must hold a Missouri Teaching Certificate.
- Experience in the grade and subject matter is preferred.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tutors will work 3 days per week for 3 hours each day. The building principal will determine the schedule.
- Tutors will accelerate student learning by focusing on building prerequisite knowledge and skills while simultaneously integrating new learning that is part of the grade-level curriculum.
- Tutors will be responsible to submit monthly paperwork and quarterly evaluation reports.

- Ability to interact in a non-judgmental manner with culturally diverse populations and persons experiencing a wide range of social conditions
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and receive constructive feedback
- Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Must be able to lift, carry and load equipment and supplies that will weigh as much as 30-60 pounds, 3-10 times per day.
- Must be able to climb and work from ladders, stepladders, step stools and to aid in directing traffic.
- Must have dexterous use of both hands so as to be able to operate security related equipment.
- This is strenuous work requiring good corrected vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, running and the ability to work at all the school districts buildings and grounds.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators and other staff members.
- Must be able to read and understand written orders and instructions.
- Must have a valid state driver's license.
